Deweybot is a Discord bot on the Nightwatch Syndicate discord server created by Jased with some features implemented by Maorwy (also Lexi did a thing i think), serving as a multi-purpose bot on the new server^[1].

Current features

Gacha

Deweybot features a gacha card systems, that lets users submit their own cards that can later be collected by others trough the /gacha-roll command. Upon rolling, users receive three cards, two of them being either common or uncommon, with the third one also possibly being rare, epic, or legendary. Cards can be traded between members using /gacha-trade.

GIF generator

The /house command lets people make their own House Dr House House MD Car Accident Funny GIFs by overlaying some text over the original GIF.

Nicknames

/nickname can be used to set someone's nickname on the server.

History

After Okayxairen started granting members wishes in #general on the 21st of January, 2026, Lexi proposed the idea of letting users change each others' nicknames^[2]. Due to how Discord manages nickname permissions, this wasn't possible through editing user roles. This led to Jased making a bot to manage nicknames, with future plans to include features for a roulette bot^[3], that could give members buffs or debuffs based on the results of a wheel that could be spun daily^[4].

Ashley later suggested the idea of having the bot reply to any message containing the word "house", with House Dr House House MD Car Accident Funny GIFs captioned with the message's contents^[5]. A version of this idea was soon implemented that would use the /house command. Ashley still thinks it would be funnier the way she suggested it, though.

Future plans

Deweybot is planned to feature an economy system, and a way to roll who gets to be the king of the day.
