ADN-ZB-Spremberg, 25.9.1973 New York: DDR in die UNO aufgenommen; die erste Woche der XXVIII. Tagung der UNO-Vollversammlung in New York stand ganz im Zeichen der Aufnahme der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik und anderer neuer Mitglieder in die Weltorganisation. Am 18. September 1973, dem Tag der Eröffnung der Vollversammlung, nahm die DDR auf einstimmigen Beschluß des Weltforums ihren legitimen Platz in den Vereinten Nationen ein. UBz.: Auf dem Gelände des UNO-Hauptquartiers weht die Fahne der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik. In einer feierlichen Zeremonie war sie am 19.September 1973 von Mitgliedern der UNO-Fahnewache in Anwesenheit des UNO-Genralsekretärs Kurt Waldheim und der Mitglieder der DDR-Regierungsdeledation sowie zahlreicher anderer Staatenvertreter gehißt worden.
