Disclaimer: This page was manually written through blood and tears, do not disrespect big robert again The Honda Civic EK9 Type R is a 3 door hatchback SUV, the production of this car began in 1997 and ended in 1998. A total of ~16,000 were made before production ended.

EK9 Type R Honda Civic

The EK9 features a 185 horsepower engine, its top speed reaching up to 225 KM/H or roughly 140 MPH, it reached 0 - 60 in a total of 6.3 seconds. The engine volume is ~ 1.6 L and it is ~93 cubic inches, the engine features 4 inline[1] cylinders and uses Internal Combustion[2].

The EK9 is a FWD[3], manual transition vehicle (5 gears), around 164 inches in length (~4 meters or 13 feet long), and ways ~ 1 imperial tonne.

General Information

The EK9 was the first Civic to receive the type R title, and is based on the sixth generation Honda Civic. In 1998, the Honda Civic EK9 Type R Motorsports Edition was introduced to market, which came without any air conditioning or other user comforts. The windows were manual and the interior was gray, the tire rims were made from steel.

The Honda Civic Type RX came into the market in 1999, the car featured a CD player, body-colored retractable electric door mirrors, powered windows, automatic air conditioning and a key-less entry system. The Type RX was the last EK9 variation ever produced.

In 1999, Honda tuning company Spoon Sports designed a racing version of the Type R that had the B16B engine redline[4] increased to 11,000 RPM
